The Championships Wimbledon, or simply Wimbledon, is the oldest tennis tournament in the world and is widely considered to be the most prestigious. Tournament officials and most signage also refer to players by their first name and surname, preceded by the title of “Miss”, “Mrs” or “Mr.” As the premier tennis tournament in the world, The All England Lawn Tennis Club has gone to great lengths over the last 2 decades to continually improve the quality of the Wimbledon experience for spectators, players, officials and neighbors. A new retractable roof for an expanded Centre Court debuted in 2009, which marks the first time in the tournament's long history that rain will not stop play for a lengthy time on Centre Court. A new 4000-seat No. 2 Court and 2000-seat No. 3 Court were added before 2009 and 2010 respectively, increasing the amenities and overall fan experience for spectators. The defending Singles champions for 2010 are Roger Federer, a 6-time winner, just one win behind all time leader Pete Sampras, and Serena Williams, a 2-time winner and 2-time runner up.
