What does repositioning mean?
In regards to private aviation travel, repositioning refers to the act of moving an airplane or jet from one location to another in order to service a private jet or airplane flight. Often a passenger who is chartering a private jet needs to fly to or from a location that does not have an aircraft available to meet their travel needs. In this case, an airplane or jet must fly to the origination city to begin the flight. Repositioning a chartered private jet or airplane may constitute a significant cost to the passenger. Using a jet charter broker who has access to private jets and airplanes in more locations than fixed based operator may be advantageous to the customer. By avoiding high costs associated with repositioning a private jet a customer may be able to save money on the cost of a private jet charter.
