Private Jet Travel with Portable Oxygen Concentrators

FAA Requirements for Medical Respiratory Assistive Devices

Many people with respiratory problems who require the use of oxygen while on the ground, fear that their condition prevents them from traveling.  Fortunately, It is possible for passengers who require the use of an oxygen concentrator or other respiratory assistive devices to fly on a private aircraft.

Their are regulatory requirements that apply to the use of supplemental oxygen onboard. Both the aircraft and the crew need to be certified to bring supplemental oxygen tanks or oxygen-generating canisters onboard.   When you contact Stratos Jet Charters to book a private jet, please inform your charter agent of your needs so that they can select an air carrier who meets these requirements.  Our agents will also work with you to ensure that your oxygen supply is approved by the FAA for flight.

Travel Considerations for Passengers who Require Oxygen

The first consideration all travelers should ask themselves is “am I fit to fly?”.  Please keep in mind that any condition that can affect respiratory function or the way someone could be magnified in the air.  Also, it is smart to consider the destination to which you plan to travel.  If you are traveling areas of high elevations, or regions with extreme temperatures or places with high humidity, this could negatively impact ability to breathe once you arrive at your destination.

For passengers who are also considered non-ambulatory or have limited mobility, we can still accommodate your travel needs. At Stratos Jet Charters, we tailor our private jet travel services to your specific needs, planning your itinerary down to the finest details. Our friendly customer service agents are available 24/7—(888) 478-7286 (toll free) or request a quote online.
