Based on the most successful British commercial aircraft ever built, the modern era of Hawker business jets enjoyed a 20-year production run between 1993 and 2013. However, the history of these highly regarded aircraft goes well beyond that.

The prototype for the company’s original twin-engine corporate jet first began under de Havilland in the early 1960s. It was initially known as the DH. 125 until Hawker Siddeley acquired de Havilland shortly before the aircraft entered production in 1962.

Another name change ensued when Hawker Siddeley merged with British Aircraft Corporation in 1977 to form British Aerospace. At this point, the name changed to BAe 125. That lasted until 1993 when Raytheon acquired British Aerospace’s line of business jets. As a tribute to the aircraft’s lineage, they became known as Hawker business jets.

Hawker Business Jets Today

Today, the Hawker brand is owned by Textron Aviation, an aerospace manufacturer headquartered in Wichita, Kansas. They also own the Beechcraft and Cessna brands, forming the industry’s broadest product portfolio.

Hawker business jets hold particular appeal as private jet charters, particularly in the light and midsize jet market segments. Their most popular jet charter options include:
