The Citation Excel Delivers Exceptional Value and Performance for Private Jet Charter Flights
To say the Citation Excel was one of the more popular mid-size business jets is a bit of an understatement. When word got out that American-based Cessna Corporation was working on the Excel project, they had received more than 200 orders for the luxury private jet by the time it was fully certified by the FAA in 1998.
Produced in Cessna’s manufacturing facility in Wichita, Kansas, crews were completing an aircraft every three days to keep up with demand during peak production.
A smaller version of the Citation X, which competes in the super mid-side class, the Excel is designed to carry up to eight passengers comfortably in an executive configuration.
While it could be considered a light jet, the Excel punches above its weight thanks to 583 cubic feet of cabin space. There’s an additional 79 cubic feet of storage space.
Anyone who charters Excel business jets will have peace of mind knowing this aircraft is capable of cruising at a service ceiling of 45,000 feet. This allows pilots to soar above turbulent weather, providing passengers with smooth, worry-free flights.
The Excel also boasts a plush interior, surrounding its occupants in luxury. Some of the amenities include:
- Premium leather seats
- Hand polished wood grain
- Private aft lavatory
The Excel doesn’t compete with other mid-size business jets in terms of speed (cruise speed of 422mph) or range (1,598nm). What makes it truly ‘Excel’ is its miniscule takeoff distance of 3,590 feet. This allows it to dart in and out of smaller executive airports that its mid-size counterparts couldn’t dream of accessing.
That said, Las Vegas, Chicago and Los Angeles are all within easy reach of Dallas on a Cessna Excel, without a fuel stop.
