There are NASCAR races, and then there’s the Daytona 500. Dubbed the ‘Super Bowl of stock car racing,’ this high-octane event draws an estimated 140,000 race fans from across the world every February.
The 66th Daytona 500, which goes on Feb. 18, 2024, is a chance for race fans to visit the newest speedway on the NASCAR circuit. Unveiled in 2017, Daytona International Speedway’s $400 million overhaul was designed to improve the spectator experience. With an $18 million purse, which is by far the largest in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup race series, it’s easy to see why the Daytona 500 holds so much appeal for both fans and racers.
With more than 40 drivers attaining top speeds approaching 200mph over 200 laps, the action is fast and fierce. But perhaps the thing that makes this race so unique is it’s the first event on the NASCAR calendar. Almost every other major sporting event holds its marquee event at the end of the season.

We were very disappointed in the catering service. The lobster was undercooked and the sevruga caviar we ordered turned out to be lumpfish. Which we did not eat. We intended to take all the food to our home with the lobster, which we were going to cook to make it suitable to eat, but when we arrived home discovered that our food had not been unloaded from the plane. The only thing we ate on the plane was a small piece of the lobster.

This trip was to return home from our 5.5 month winter sojourn in Florida.
We had planned everything around this return date. Our cars had been shipped home that day. We had run down all the food.
The cancellation occurred when we were out for dinner the night before the planned trip. We therefore did not find out about it until about 10pm.
Anthony did a good job of helping with the recovery over the next hour. He responded instantly to almost every email.
Unfortunately, because everything for ourselves and our fellow passengers had been planned around leaving on that particular day, we were very limited in our selection of recovery flights. As a result we paid an extra $7k+.
Once that was settled and I had figured out how to get the extra money to you quickly enough, things went smoothly.
When the flight was first booked (months ago) I had expressed some discomfort with the fact that the plane operator was so small and seemed to be focused on another business model. Anthony said that he had great experience with them and their reliability. It was unfortunate that my concerns turned out to be correct.
As things have turned out, it now seems to me that I should be booking my flights right at the last minute, not rely on leaving on a certain date and, perhaps, even trying to catch an empty leg.

Are there additional costs per private jet rental passenger?
There are no additional costs per passenger. At Stratos Jet Charters, we base our private jet rental prices per hour, not per guest.

Additional Concierge Charges
We do charge for some of our additional concierge services, such as in-flight catering and entertainment, hotel bookings and ground transportation. We know our clients’ time is precious, so we offer the value and convenience of “one-stop-shopping” through our Trip Support team. When you book a flight with Stratos Jet Charters, we can take care of all the logistics, including booking hotels, meeting spaces, limousines and tickets to special events. That way you can relax, and enjoy your trip.
Empty Leg Charters
Also, since we charge per hour, not per passenger, there are travel bargains to be found with our Empty Leg Flights. Many of our private jet rental flights are one-way, and then we need to move the aircraft to a new destination. To reduce the costs of flying an empty aircraft, we offer discounts to travelers with flexible itineraries. Clever passengers will sometimes split the cost with their fellow travelers, thereby reducing the cost for everyone on the flight.
Can I make last-minute changes to my itinerary?
If your plans need to change, we will do everything in our power to accommodate the changes. One of the benefits of hiring Stratos Jet Charters is that we have much more flexibility than commercial airlines and can provide many more air charter services.
We have two teams that can help you. Here is a brief description of each:
Charter Sales Agents
This is the initial contact team. They evaluate your travel needs to identify the appropriate aircraft type for your travel plan. Pricing is determined by aircraft availability, its position related to the intended departure location and the position of where the aircraft needs to be after performing the customer’s flight.
Trip Support Team
Once the aircraft has been selected, Trip Support works with the customer, the air carrier and all concierge service providers to organize all of the travel details. Trip Support is responsible for coordinating:
Departure time
Departure and arrival at the Fixed Base departure location
Ensuring assigned crew members meet Stratos experience requirements
Making sure the insurance is current and everyone is protected
Coordinating all concierge services

The cancellation occurred when we were out for dinner the night before the planned trip. We therefore did not find out about it until about 10pm. Anthony did a good job of helping with the recovery over the next hour. He responded instantly to almost every email. Unfortunately, because everything for ourselves and our fellow passengers had been planned around leaving on that particular day, we were very limited in our selection of recovery flights. As a result we paid an extra $7k+. Once that was settled and I had figured out how to get the extra money to you quickly enough, things went smoothly. When the flight was first booked (months ago) I had expressed some discomfort with the fact that the plane operator was so small and seemed to be focused on another business model. Anthony said that he had great experience with them and their reliability. It was unfortunate that my concerns turned out to be correct. As things have turned out, it now seems to me that I should be booking my flights right at the last minute, not rely on leaving on a certain date and, perhaps, even trying to catch an empty leg.
