The Big D boasts a rich history seen within its architecture and is also home to the world famous Dallas Cowboys football team. Texas BBQ puts up a fight against Kansas City, Memphis, and any and all comers, but don’t count out the fine dining restaurants. And the arts and culture in Dallas are just as varied as the food. The arts scene boasts great art museums, orchestras, and symphonies, as well as blues and jazz clubs, including the famed Deep Ellum.
Or maybe you’re an athletic supporter , traveling from town to town to watch your team go up against the Cowboys or the Mavericks (or maybe you’re a Dallas native who has to travel with the team by private jet out of Dallas).
A great place to catch a live show while in Dallas is the House of Blues or the Palladium Ballroom. The Cowtown Coliseum is the world’s first indoor rodeo and is located downtown. For those who enjoy the outdoors, just outside of Dallas are some beautiful horseback riding trails as well as the 70-acre Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden set on White Rock Lake. If you prefer shopping, the Dallas Metroplex is stacked with top-end stores.
For history buffs, you may want to head over to the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, which features comprehensive exhibits on John F. Kennedy’s presidency and assassination. The museum is located right where Harvey Lee Oswald fired his fatal shots.
