There are also opportunities for hands-on wildlife experience. Marathon is home to The Turtle Hospital, the world’s first veterinarian hospital dedicated to the treatment of sea turtles. Visitors can participate in daily educational programs that include a tour of the hospital, and also get a chance to feed the resident turtles. Another Marathon must-see is the Dolphin Research Center. This non-profit research centre promotes peaceful coexistence between people and marine mammals. Their programs include dolphin encounters, and even opportunities to train or participate in dolphin research! These programs are very popular, and its recommend you reserve your spot in advance. While Marathon is a boaters’ paradise, you’ll also want to jump in a car and cruise the famous Seven Mile Bridge that connects Marathon to the Lower Keys. From the new bridge you can see parts of the Old Seven Mile bridge, once known as the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World’. Other popular things to do in Marathon include:
