The Vienna State Opera House, built in 1869, is home to the Wiener Mozart Ensemble and the Vienna Philharmonic, and hosts more than 50 operas as well as the exclusive Vienna Ball annually. Also known as the stomping grounds for famed psychoanalyst Fraud, Vienna’s other famous son is artist Gustav Klimt. You can see the largest and most important collection of Klimt’s works at the Belvedere Museum. Make sure to visit a chocolatier for the famed Mozartkugel.
