Located 140 miles northwest of Paris, Lille began as a village between branches of the Deûle River. Though it has grown to France’s fifth-largest city, it has kept an “island mentality”. Lille was influenced by neighboring Belgium but is still staunchly French. Not quite Belgian, and definitely not Parisian, Lille grew into its own place. Known for producing textiles, Lille is the cultural hub of Northern France.

Lille prides itself on producing gifted citizens. Louis Pasteur was from Lille, as was actor Phillipe Noiret and President Charles de Gaulle. De Gaulle’s birthplace is still a popular landmark. But it is pre-war Lille that will take your breath away. Stately historic buildings surround the Grand Place market square. The nearby Cathedral of Lille was started in 1854, but due to wartime damage, wasn’t completed until 1999. And the Lille Citadel is one of the best examples of 17th century military fortifications.

is a 360 ° panorama of Lille and even the mountains of Flanders on a clear day! The restored Old Town enchants visitors with its flamboyant 17th century architecture. You can explore at your leisure, or participate in a walking tour with a local guide. As mentioned, the Citadel is an extraordinary military fortification, built by Louis XIV’s genius engineer, Sébastien Vauban. The five-sided fortress influenced many subsequent military buildings, including the modern U.S. Pentagon. As a bonus, the Citadel shares the island with the Lille Zoo. The Zoo features 400 animals representing 80 different species including monkeys, zebras, panthers, and rare birds. Plus it has The Cub Corner, a permanent fun fair for children. Worked with Kerry Hill and as always, she delivered excellent service. First date departure had to be delayed due to a mechanical issue with the aircraft and she kept me well informed. When the revised departure date came, she worked continuously to get a hangar for the aircraft in order to help avoid costly de-icing then next morning. I worked with Kimberly from Stratos Jet Charters. She was very enthusiastic and helpful. In fact because of her enthusiasm and helpfulness, I chose Stratos over a another company that gave me a slightly lower quote. She answered all my questions and did her best to meet all my requests. The flight was excellent, plane was comfortable and the pilots were very helpful and professional. There was a bit of miscommunication about the hours of customs at my home airport .. and lead to a bit of confusion about the return departure time. Ice for beverages had melted on the first leg, and not all the drinks were stocked according to what was promised. My requests were fulfilled however for the return flight. I'm a coffee drinker, coffee was well stocked, but very little cream available, kinda curdled!!. These are tiny details but better supply of online refreshments would have made the flight perfect!! Beautiful views, no delays, smooth landings, and comfortable seats and lav. Beautiful shiny, clean plane. . the CJ3. Had a great time!

This survey reall doesn't apply to the use my company had with Stratos. We had to expedite a piece of equipment and a contractor to our facility to perform some emergency repairs. The process however did go well and the equipment and person arrived on time and the entire process was handled by Will Buckley in a very professional manner and was extremely helpful in making this adventure easy and convenient.
