Lined with boutiques and specialty shops, King Street is where you can also visit the Gadsby's Tavern, where the founding fathers once dined. It is now a museum featuring old photographs and artifacts. Those familiar with the PBS TV show Mercy Street will want to check out the restored mansion, former hospital and gardens of Carlyle House Historic Park, which was the inspiration for the Civil War set series.
