Things to Do in Bedford

  • The Job Lane House, built around 1713 in the New England saltbox-style and home to one of Bedford’s founding fathers.
  • The Bedford Flag, the oldest known surviving intact battle flag in the US taken to the battle of Lexington and Concord during the Revolutionary War in 1775. It is now on display at the Bedford Free Public Library.

Near Bedford in Concord is the site of the Minute Man National Historical Park, which commemorates the opening battle in the American Revolutionary War. It also includes the Wayside, home to noted American authors Louisa May Alcott, Margaret Sidney and Nathaniel Hawthorne, who all lived there at one time.
