College Station jet charter information

College Station, also known as Aggieland or Home of the Aggies, got its loving nickname due to it’s top industry: agriculture. It’s here that locals and visitors will find themselves smack dab in the center of the Texas Triangle, one of the 11 megaregions found in the US.

In megaregions, the urban areas are known to contain a population that exceeds 235 million. The Texas Triangle consists of four major cities: Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas-Fort Worth.

The city was built around the A&M (Agricultural & Mechanical) University, which was instituted in 1876 as the first public institution of higher education in the state of Texas. Since then, the population of College Station has exploded, growing from a few thousand to more than 116,000 inhabitants today.

Things to Do in College Station

For many, College Station is the place to enjoy college football. But because of its warm climate, highly rated public schools, and low employment rate, the city is home to a wide variety of things to do.

The city’s main attraction, besides it’s football games, is The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum. Located directly on the A&M campus, the library is dedicated to its namesake. It offers a wide range of memorabilia and presidential props from Bush’s time in the Oval Office.

Other notable attractions include:

Research Park – Located right next to The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum lays Research Park. It’s a beautiful park with a quaint pond and is perfect for an afternoon stroll or picnic.

Messina Hof – This local winery is a favorite for many. The winery was founded in 1977 and is famous for it’s vintages and blends. Brush up on your varietal knowledge while sipping and sampling some of the best wines in the region.

Museum of the American GI – History buffs will love touring this museum. After opening its doors in 2002, visitors are able to take in a vast collection of military memorabilia, including boats, planes, and tanks. There’s also a huge collection of dog tags from military personnel that were declared missing or deceased during the Vietnam War.

Texas World Speedway – Get behind the wheel of a seriously fast car at the speedway and see if you can set a new record. Whether you want to practice your skills, take a course, or just watch others zip around the track, the Speedway is a great place to visit.
