General Information
Located in a box canyon in southwest Colorado, surrounded by steep cliffs and mountainous forests, Telluride is listed on the National Register of Historical Places.
A former silver mining camp, the town saw a population boom in the late-1800s with the coming of the railroad, when people from around the world came to stake their claim. That fortune also attracted the likes of Butch Cassidy and his Wild Bunch, who made their very first bank robbery in Telluride.
