Public Health & Travel Advisories
At Stratos, we’re doing our best to stay on top of the latest advisories and respond accordingly.
World Health Organization
On March 11, 2020, the COVID-19 officially reached pandemic status. The World Health Organization continues to release statements as the virus evolves.

What do these notices mean for private jet travel?
Information contained in the notices allow travelers to stay up-to-date on the latest news and information regarding the virus so they can protect themselves and their loved ones from infection.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
During these unprecedented times, we also look to the advice and recommendations of the CDC. The CDC has created an interactive map showing the risk levels of COVID exposure. You can also find the current travel restrictions and recommendations here as well.
How does this map assist private jet travelers?
Before you make plans to travel to a different country, it may be helpful to check out the travel restrictions first. This can prepare you and your travel companions for any additional steps that may be required prior to departing.
Here’s what you can do to help you enjoy successful trip planning:
- Be prompt.Aircraft schedules and availability can change on short notice. We recommend booking your charter as early as possible and updating your itinerary as necessary to keep your trip plans on track.
- Be flexible.Flexibility is the key to a successful booking. If your itinerary allows for minor inconveniences, like earlier or later departure times, you’ll have a much easier time securing your preferred aircraft.
What additional safety procedures are private jet charters following?
In response to the pandemic, the aviation industry has created additional safety protocols. Some of these include:
- Social distancing between crew and passengers
- Additional cabin cleaning with extreme disinfecting measures
- Temperature testing prior to boarding
- Social distancing between crew and airport personnel
- Limited access to fixed-base operators
As the pandemic evolves, so does our response to safety and regulatory compliance. To ensure the highest standards are met, we only work with operators that adhere to the most stringent of health and safety practices.
What do the new international flight requirements look like?
When booking a private flight to international destinations, you’ll likely encounter additional travel requirements. These may include:
- Permit approval delays up to 48 hours
- COVID cancellation contract clauses
- Additional delays as smaller airports are operating with reduced staff
As travel recommendations and requirements change on a country-by-country basis, these requirements may change. Our private flight advisors are staying on top of them and are happy to discuss these with you when booking an international private charter.
Stratos’ Response to Safety During Unprecedented Times
At Stratos, we’ve always prided ourselves on providing the safest aircraft for each and every mission we book, and that continues to remain our highest priority during the Coronavirus pandemic. That’s why we’ve added additional steps to our current health and safety policies to ensure every private jet charter we book meets the highest standards in the industry.
Additional procedures above the recommendations
We require that all crewmembers greet passengers while wearing a mask. Since the most common ways of transmitting the virus is by coughing or sneezing, we’re confident this step can prevent transmission by nearly 95 percent.
We also source aircraft that are diligently sanitized and disinfected prior to passengers stepping onboard with focus on items and areas that are touched frequently.
Extra services without additional charges
We strive to provide our clients with as much information as possible so that they can make an informed buying decision. To achieve this, we’ve committed ourselves to providing the safest aircraft while providing transparent, honest, and fair pricing.
The new safety protocols being mandated by the CDC and FAA require increased time and labour costs. However, we don’t pass those costs along to our clients. We want you to take comfort in knowing your health and safety are our first priority. To make sure your flight is as convenient and comfortable as you’ve come to expect from us, we’ve continued to raise the bar.
