Boeing 727 VIP Charter Flight Information
The Boeing 727 VIP is an extremely popular executive airliner capable of handling short- to midrange travel itineraries. While the original version of this aircraft was intended for the commercial airline market, the VIP derivative was created with luxury in mind. While a Boeing 727 in an economy-seating configuration can carry as many as 189 passengers, the VIP typically seats between 16 and 30. When you consider this, you quickly realize you’ll have plenty of room to do as you wish while flying at 42,000 feet. Given this extra spaciousness, it’s not uncommon to find the Boeing 727 VIP outfitted with an array of luxury amenities, including:
- Full stand-up wet bar
- Large private bathrooms
- Full business centers
- Dining areas
- Private bedrooms
Furthermore, you can expect the majority of these aircraft to feature state-of-the-art entertainment systems and business amenities. So whether you’re travelling for an important meeting, or you’re arranging a private group charter flight for a getaway, you can remain productive while flying, or you can sit back in complete comfort. The choice is yours. The interiors of Boeing 727 VIP charter airliners are invariably decorated with the highest quality materials and fixtures to provide the most refined cabin environment imaginable. This could include:
- Soft LED lighting systems
- Oversized captain’s chairs
- Exotic wood trim
The cabin of the Boeing 727 VIP measures:
- 72 feet long
- 11 feet, 8 inches wide
- 6 feet, 11 inches tall
This aircraft also offers a generous baggage capacity of 640 cubic feet, which means you can bring along pretty much anything you want.
First introduced in 1964, the Boeing 727 is considered a midsize, narrow-body jet airliner. During it’s 22-year production run, the American aeronautics manufacturer built more than 1,800 of them. It holds the distinction of being one of the few aircraft to incorporate a tri-engine design, and the only one Boeing ever built. As the design of this aircraft is based on older technology, owners have since had to retrofit them with hush kits to make them compliant with modern Stage 3 airport noise restrictions. Engineered to meet commercial airline specifications, the Boeing 727 is a workhorse. It is powered by three Pratt & Whitney Canada JT8D turbofan engines, each one producing about 15,000 pounds of thrust. It requires about 8,400 feet for takeoff when fully loaded. Once airborne, it climbs at a rate of 2,940 feet-per-minute, and cruises at a speed of 519 mph. With a range of up to 2,700 nautical miles, the Boeing 727 is ideal for transcontinental travel.
