When our clients book private luxury jets for holiday getaways, they consider convenience, climate, and cost while planning. But there is a fourth consideration for the list: color. The mood-enhancing benefits of color are well-researched. Even without the brain research, there is an intrinsic pleasure in going to a colorful place just to enjoy it. So, to help you choose a visually-stimulating, memorable vacation, here are our top five suggestions for colorful travel destinations:

Prismatic Spring

Prismatic Spring, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Yellowstone is well-known for its extraordinary natural beauty. However, geologists and visitors alike cannot help but marvel at the vibrant rainbow of colors created by the microbes around the Prismatic Spring. The edges are reddish-orange, then green-yellow towards the center, and ultimately a deep blue in the very center of the spring. It’s the largest hot spring in the US and is accessible to private luxury jets through West Yellowstone Airport.

New England

New England in the Fall

Several New England states claim their fall foliage is the most spectacular, so choosing a destination is up to your personal preferences. If you prefer cycling, horseback or hiking, Acadia National Park in Maine will reward your efforts with stunning views. Enjoy road trips through remarkable scenery and picturesque smaller towns? The Green Mountain Byway in Vermont may be calling to you. Or, go off the beaten path and bask in the golden red majesty of the Kancamagus Scenic Byway in New Hampshire. The advantage of booking private luxury jets through Stratos Jet Charters is that we have access to smaller regional airports, getting you closer to the most vibrant fall colors in the US.

Old San Juan

Old San Juan, Puerto Rico

Old San Juan’s striking Spanish colonial architecture looks even better with brilliant new paint hues. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Old City has been preserved, restored and re-invigorated with an eye-pleasing palette. Surrounded by sparkling ocean, the Old City has a multitude of shops, museums, cafés, and shaded plazas to welcome you. Bring an extra memory-card; you’ll want to photograph everything. Private luxury jets can land at the international airport or at one of the smaller regional airports closer to your resort.

Shibuya

Wisteria Tunnel

Wisteria Tunnel and Shibuya Neon, Japan

We have two colorful suggestions for Japan. The choices range from carefully-cultivated natural colors to manufactured neon landscapes. The sublime natural colors can be found at the Wisteria Tunnel in Kitakyushu. This amazing garden features two tunnels, roughly 100 yards long, made of wisteria trees. Together they form an enormous canopy of flowers with blossoms varying from pastel white to intense dark purple. Note that during peak season (April 20 to May 6), the traffic congestion is considerable.

The other end of the Japanese color experience is the Shibuya Neon, in Tokyo. Think Times Square on steroids. Shibuya District is Tokyo’s center for youth fashion and culture, packed with shopping, dining and nightclubs. Shibuya’s most prominent landmark is the intersection in front of the Shibuya Station’s Hachiko Exit. The intersection is surrounded by neon signs and huge video screens to attract the eyes of the 2,500 pedestrians crossing the street every time the traffic light changes. It’s a dazzling place for all your senses!
