The Falcon 900 series jet charter is a three-engine corporate heavy jet from Dassault Aviation. To date, more than 500 of this immensely successful aircraft have been built. This is a testament to both its popularity, as well as its longevity in a highly competitive market. Along with its larger sibling, the Falcon 7X, the Falcon 900 holds the distinction as being the only tri-jet aircraft in production. While the original Falcon 900, which first entered service in the mid-1980s, had a range of 4,500 nautical miles, subsequent versions have improved upon that. For instance, the 900EX and 900LX boast a maximum range of 4,750 nm. The latter is the current production model, which began in 2011. Regardless of which model you choose for a jet charter, a Falcon 900 jet charter can easily provide business executives with nonstop travel from places like:

  • Chicago to London
  • Boston to Athens
  • Atlanta to Paris

And for corporate travelers who frequently fly across oceans to conduct business, there’s a certain comfort in knowing your aircraft has three engines, instead of two. Simply put, a three-engine jet charter has better one-engine-out range than a twin-engine aircraft. Should one fail, you can still manage. Another key benefit of the Falcon 900 series is its slow runway approach capabilities. Due to its tri-engine design, it can land a slower speed, further adding to the high level of safety this executive jet charter provides. The added thrust of a third turbofan also enhances the Falcon 900’s performance on shorter runways, as well as its ability to land at ‘hot-and-high’ airports. As a result, it can fly to a greater range of hard-to-reach destinations that many of its class competitors can’t. This makes it a truly versatile jet charter option among heavy jets. The Falcon 900’s top-notch galley houses everything needed by the discerning luxury traveler to savor multiple full-course meals while in flight. For added convenience, this luxury jet also features a fully enclosed lavatory and 127 cubic feet of baggage storage. While smaller than the Falcon 7X, the Falcon 900’s cabin is still spacious enough to carry 12 passengers with ease. For large group jet charters, it can accommodate up to 19, but you sacrifice a little comfort and maneuverability as a result. The latest version of the Falcon 900 (the LX edition), as well as older models that have been refurbished, offer the business and entertainment amenities you’d expect in a modern jet charter. This includes:

  • High-speed Internet
  • Satellite phone
  • Spacious work areas
  • Integrated entertainment systems

And true to the vision of company founder, Marcel Dassault, the design of the Falcon 900 is as visually appealing as it is functional. Dassault was one of the first manufacturers to turn to computer-aided aircraft design. The company also has a rich history as a fighter jet producer, including the Mirage and Rafale lines. Dassault was wise not to forget its lineage either. The 900 series owes much of its performance characteristics to the Falcon 50, the company’s original tri-jet aircraft. It first began production in the 1970s. Overall, if you’re looking for a jet charter with a solid value proposition, the Falcon 900 is a safe, reliable choice for both business and luxury travel.
