The Learjet 45 (along with the 45XR, a newer variant that features increased range) is a light plane charter produced by Learjet, a Bombardier Aerospace Company. With its two powerful Honeywell TFE731-20-BR engines, the Lear 45 has a tremendous range of 1,710 nautical miles and reaches cruise speeds in excess of 533 mph.
The Lear 45 can soar at an altitude of 51,000 feet, well over any inclement weather, and boasts a climb at a rate of 2,466 feet per minute. The Lear 45XR dominates the light category in terms of overall performance. It has the power to fly farther and at faster speeds with more passengers than any other charter plane in its class.
Bombardier didn’t scrimp on the Lear 45’s cabin either. It offers business executives and luxury travelers a spacious and comfortable place to relax and enjoy their flight (or conduct business on the go). Configured to seat up to eight passengers, the Lear 45’s interior features:
- Double-club seating
- Fine leather upholstery
- 410 cubic feet of space
- Fold-down tables
- Quiet interior (lower than 72dB)
- Flat-floor cabin
The 45 also features a large lavatory with sink, belted commode and wardrobe in the aft. Up front, there’s a small closet and refreshment center opposite the main entry. In terms of storage, the Lear 45 can hold up to 500 pounds of baggage, split between nose and aft compartments.

Bombardier’s designers outfitted the Lear 45 with Honeywell’s Primus 1000 avionics suite, which, at the time, was the most advanced system available.
