Legacy 500 Charter Flight Information

When Brazilian aerospace conglomerate Embraer introduced the highly anticipated Legacy 500 jet charter in late 2014, it set a new benchmark for what a midsize jet should be in terms of performance and cabin comfort. It achieved a number of ‘firsts’ and ‘bests’ in its class.

  • First full fly-by-wire flight control
  • Largest cabin volume
  • Only stand-up cabin and flat floor in its class
  • Best range with a load of eight passengers
  • Fastest aircraft in its class

As you can see, this clean-sheet design immediately propelled the Legacy 500 to the head of the midsize class. While a Legacy 500 jet charter is large enough to handle as many as 12 passengers, the preferred configuration is for eight in a double-club seating formation. This is important, as with this occupancy, the 500 can still manage US coast-to-coast missions in either direction. With four passengers, it can fly up to 3,125 nautical miles without stopping, This, coupled with its class-leading high cruise speed of Mach 0.82 (536mph), makes it ideal for business and personal travelers who need to fly domestically on tight schedules. Other key performance specs for this midsize jet charter include:

  • Takeoff distance: 4,084 feet
  • Landing distance: of 2,122 feet
  • Maximum service ceiling: 45,000 feet

Much of this can be attributed to a pair of Honeywell HTF7500E turbofans, each of which delivers 7,036 foot-pounds of thrust.

The Best of Beauty and Functionality

The interior of the Legacy 500 jet charter is equally impressive. One of the first things you’ll notice is that it’s very spacious for a midsize jet. With a cabin that measures six feet tall; six feet, 10 inches wide; and 26 feet, 10 inches long, you could easily mistake this for a larger class of jet. There’s also plenty of room for your belongings, as there is 110 cubic feet of externally accessible storage, plus another 45 cubic feet inside the cabin. That’s enough space for:

  • Six pairs of skis
  • Four garment bags
  • 14 roll-on bags

Each of the eight cabin seats offers full swivel functionality, as well as lateral, forward and aft movement. Four of the seats are fully berthable, allowing passengers to catch some shuteye on longer flights. For cabin management, the Legacy 500 utilizes the exquisite Honeywell Ovation Select platform, which delivers:

  • High-definition entertainment
  • Individual touchscreen and wireless iPhone/iPad control
  • Onboard Wi-Fi and satellite phone
