Stratos Jets Celebrates a Decade in Private Jet Charter Industry
It’s amazing what you can achieve in 10 short years. Since our inception in 2006, Stratos Jet Charters has been on a mission to raise the standards in the private jet charter industry through numerous customer-oriented initiatives.
After all, without our loyal client base, where would we be?
While some of these initiatives resulted from a perceived lack of service in our industry (we’ll get to those in a minute), others are based on old-fashioned values, such as:
- Forming great relationships with our clients
- Educating our clients to make informed buying decisions
- Offering fair jet charter prices and honest advice
- Choosing safety over profits
- Working to resolve issues fairly and transparently
And, of course, we do all of this while striving to provide the most convenient and comfortable private jet charter experience possible with every flight we plan.
Here are some of our proudest highlights over the past 10 years…
First-ever Eco-friendly Private Jet Charter Program
Launched in 2007, the Stratos Jets Eco-jet Program is a way for forward-thinking jet charter travelers to offset the effect of carbon emissions produced through private aviation.
To create the program, Stratos Jets partnered with TerraPass, a company that uses the monetary contributions from the program to support renewable energy research and production projects designed to offset the effect of carbon emissions.
As part of the ‘Offset Your Jet’ campaign, the eco-jet program adds about one per cent to the total cost of a private jet charter flight. This provides clients with a meaningful way to offset their carbon footprint, without significantly impacting their business aviation budget.
Air Carrier Due-diligence Program
One of the initiatives we’re most proud of is our Approved Vendor Program. Rather
than rely on reactive safety checks, this due diligence program proactively evaluates charter operators on numerous factors, including:
- Pilot training
- Aircraft maintenance
- Operating procedures
- Liability coverage
- Financial stability
We take air charter safety very seriously. As mentioned, we won’t sacrifice client safety or cut corners to make a few extra dollars. We demonstrate this commitment through our voluntary participation in the two most prominent safety certification programs available in our industry:
- One of the first companies to become a Wyvern Authorized Broker – 2011
- First private jet charter company in the US to become an ARGUS Certified Broker during its first onsite review in 2014
The ARGUS Certified Broker program requires participants to open their doors for an onsite safety audit, where everything is scrutinized and evaluated, including:
- Company history
- Charter flight records
- Training program
- Organizational structure
- Adherence to best practices
Another one of Stratos Jets’ crowning achievements over the past decade is our work with ACANA (Air Charter Association of North America). The organization, which promotes ethics and best practices within the air charter industry, invited Stratos Jets to join it in 2010. A year later, Stratos president and CEO Joel Thomas was elected president of the organization. He additionally served several terms on the ACANA board, including chairman in 2015.
The last 10 years have provided their fair share of challenges and opportunities, and through it all, we’ve always been able to count on the support and trust of our clients. So, here’s to another decade of continued prosperity where we can Soar Higher together.
If you want a private jet charter company that values air charter safety, talk to Stratos Jet Charters. We aim to provide the highest margin of safety for every charter flight we arrange.
