Business travel

When private jet charter consumers travel via business aviation, they avoid the long TSA lines at commercial airports, and noisy crowded planes. And while these are major benefits, according to recent research they aren’t the biggest sources of stress for frequent travelers. What is? The lack of Internet connectivity to keep in touch with loved ones back home.

A recent survey done by InterContinental Hotels Group of 1,000 frequent business travelers found that 62% considered Internet access the most important hotel amenity. A television was a distant second with only 20% of respondents saying one was important, with other items such as a mini-fridge, landline phone, bathtub and mini-bar trailing even further behind.

Indeed, 25% of travelers said that logging onto the Internet in their room when they first arrive helped them feel most at home while staying at a hotel. Almost half “47%” said that connecting with family back home was the best way to de-stress after a long day of work.

Internet access is so important to travelers that 69% said they’d be very unhappy if they had no way to connect to loved ones back home. And 83% said that free Internet access would make them much happier while traveling for business. In response to these results, many major hotel chains now provide free Wi-Fi service, such as Marriott Hotels & Resorts, who have recently started offering access in the lobbies of its nearly 500 hotels. At Stratos Jets, we feel these findings translate directly to our industry, as well.

One of the primary benefits of executive jet charter is not only to save the time associated with business travel, but to increase productivity while in the air. Of course in today’s world, having Internet access is integral to this goal. Now the importance of contact with family and other loved ones back home as a significant additional benefit to jet charter consumers is being clearly shown. When our clients fly with us, we are able to provide inflight Wi-Fi service on a wide variety of our private jets, including the popular Hawker 400XP, Hawker 800XP, Citation X, Challenger 300 and Gulfstream GIV jets.

We live in the information age and within almost every profession there is an ever growing dependence on instant access to email, data stored on clouds, stock prices, market information and even social media. The Internet has created a huge increase in the speed and the immediacy that we want feedback and connections with people. Travelers desire the ability to text and send emails at any time throughout the day, then follow-up with a Facetime or Skype chat in the evening – with both business partners and loved ones, too.

Having this ability while traveling has become a primary need for most jet charter consumers, and Stratos Jet Charters is happy to provide this valuable option to our clients. When it’s time to determine private jet needs, ensuring Internet access is something we’d be happy to assist you with.
