Many Stratos Jet Charter clients have been waiting for the opportunity to visit Canada for business and family vacations. Canada is welcoming back US guests by reopening the borders in two phases. The first phase started on Aug 9, 2021. The second phase starts on September 2nd. Now is the perfect time to book your international charter flights to Canada.

Here’s what you need to know:

Before You Fly

Canadians and American visitors will need to meet specific eligibility criteria. The details below are from Canada’s official travel website.

  • Plan your quarantine.  Even if everyone in your group is fully vaccinated, you will need a quarantine plan in case you do not meet the requirements at the border. Random screenings will be conducted.
  • Take a COVID molecular test within 72 hours before arriving at the Canadian border, or have proof of a test taken between 14 and 180 days before your arrival.  (A negative PCR test result is required. Antigen test results are not acceptable for entry to Canada.)
  • Use the ArriveCAN app to register within 72 hours of your scheduled arrival. (The app is available on Google Play, Apple App Store, or online.)  Include your test results and proof of vaccination.

Please note, “fully-vaccinated” means you have waited 14 days since your second dose and have received a vaccine accepted for use in Canada (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, or Johnson & Johnson)

Guidelines for Stratos International Charter Flight Travelers

Since Stratos Jet Charters are an on-demand private flight service (as opposed to a scheduled commercial flight) you will need to provide some additional details:

  • Select “Other” for the airline name
  • Enter the name of the carrier for “other airline”

Don’t worry if you don’t have the flight info the app requires.  A Stratos agent can help you fill in the details before your trip.

Where Can You Go?

Currently, nine Canadian airports are accepting international charter flights from the US. They are Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal (Trudeau), Quebec City, and Halifax.

This has been a very unusual year for charter airlines and travelers alike. We highly recommend checking the Canadian Travel website regularly, as the restrictions may change. And, as always, our exceptional Stratos private flight advisors are here to answer your questions.

So, if you want to experience the stunning autumn colors in Quebec or close a business deal in Toronto, now is the time to get your vaccination documents and book an international charter flight to Canada.
