As always great coordination. I was not on the flight but rather my family and Stratos arranged everything. Even with a winter storm, my wife being delayed, De-icing and two sick kids on-board, Stratos updated me while I was over seas and I knew everything was handled without any issues. The pilots we super kind and accommodating and it made for a wonderful trip. All ground transport, catering and logistics went flawlessly and the Stratos team even arranged my ground transport meeting them from a commercial flight. This was probably the 3rd flight that the weather conditions were disregarded and I was told the flight was safe and would be comfortable. While we did land safely, the known turbulence was so intense I left my seat at one point, was thrown from side to side (no vomit bags around) and I was needing to do every breathing technique known to keep myself calm and not hyperventilate.
While the crew and all people involved are extremely professional, disregarding weather reports with a strong wind advisory is irresponsible not only for safety but for the customers comfort. I learned upon landing that other flights in that same airport had cancelled so why would mine fly even with the concern I expressed. Will the company lose money to reschedule? I will find it difficult to trust them in the future on any flight with weather advisories.

My experience with Joel and his team a Stratos was great! We had a little wrinkle in our trip when we were diverted from our destination to another airport. It had nothing to do with our flight. There was a disabled plan on the runway. We diverted to the other airport and waited briefly for word on when it would clear. Joel and his team were all over it. They had alternate transportation lined up for us, which, we didn't end up using and ultimately got back on the plane and went to our intended destination. There were no extra charges and we only lost about an hour. Our return trip was fast and uneventful. Stratos helped us find the right plane for our trip and kept us within our budget. Eastern Air Services (crew and plane) were wonderful. Stratos micro obsession with baggage and weights was beyond logical and anything that I had ever experienced in prior charters. Turned out there was PLENTY of room in cargo for additional baggage and that my guests were no where near any weight limitation. The only reason I tolerated the craziness was the price differential. Next time, if they are not the best price I am going back to my regular charter companies.

I share in the blame as I am a pilot (I fly a Pilatus PC12 and Beechcraft Bonanza for my family). Understanding the performance limitations of an older King Air, the relatively short runway of 5000' at Wildwood and warm summer temperatures, we like to air on the side of caution. Please know that I have developed processes at Stratos to ensure that every flight we organize is arranged exactly as I would for my own family's travels. Safety First.

It was all great. The only problem even though the rental car was right there waiting for us, it had a terrible stale cigarette odor which was most uncomfortable for our journey home. That's not your fault but I would never rent from Hertz again.

As far as I can tell the flight was great. My nephew, his wife and their dog flew from California to Guam for a move. The airport they flew from was changed the day prior to departure due to weather. The catering however didn't make it to the airport so they were on the plane for 15 hours with only the complimentary snacks and the crew shared some of their food with them. When you fly private you expect things to go smoothly...that's why you're willing to pay the extremely high price for. In my opinion there were opportunities missed to make it right. Since they had to refuel in Hawaii there was at least 6 hours to get some kind of catering for them when they landed in Hawaii. I realize that catering needs 24 hours notice but someone couldn't gone above and beyond to make things right and get them fresh fruit and veggie platter with a plain hot pizza or something to give them something other than snacks. I know if the CEO of Stratos was flying this catering issue would've been unacceptable.
Carol - Thank you for bringing this to my attention and you are certainly right. The ball was dropped. I have spoken with the private flight advisor regarding the matter and our day of flight process was not followed. Not having something ready in Hawaii during the fuel-stop is truly a missed opportunity. I am truly sorry for our misstep and the poor experience this must have been for your nephew and his family.

What airports can private jets use?
Private jets can fly into nearly every airport that regularly scheduled airline flights use and so many more. When you charter a private jet, you unlock access to a vast network of small regional and general aviation airports. When flying to Los Angeles, for example, most scheduled flights land at LAX. However, private fliers to LA have their choice of five airports within 25 miles of the city center.
Do private jets pay to land at airports?
Yes, and the fees vary widely depending on the airport. Smaller general aviation airports that primarily serve private jets typically have the lowest landing fees, while landing at large international airports tends to cost more.
Do you get a private jet from an airport?
Yes, when you work with a reputable broker, your private jet charter will begin and end at an airport. Whether it’s a small regional airport with only a small fixed-base operator or the sprawling tarmac at Denver International Airport, your private jet will be waiting for you when you arrive.
Can you keep a private jet at an airport?
Yes. Most owners store their private aircraft in a hangar at the airport. However, renting a private hangar can be rather expensive. Depending on your needs, outdoor storage at the airport or space in a shared hangar may also be suitable options.
Do I have to go through security if I have a private jet?
There are still security checks while flying private, though they look far different than that of commercial flights. Can private jets fly to any airport?

Do private jets use public airports?
They can, but large public airports are not always the best option for private jets. Flying private unlocks access to countless general aviation and regional airports that boast less traffic and lower landing fees. While your private jet could land at LaGuardia or JFK, in most cases, you will be better served by flying to Teterboro Airport in New Jersey.

Our company attempted for 2 days to secure a private jet for our business trip out of Tucson, AZ to Ban Nuys, CA. Then I contacted Stratos Jet. Within hours Stratos Jet accomplished what all the other private jet charters failed to do. We will now always start with Stratos Jets before wasting time with their competitors. Stratos Jet went ABOVE & BEYOND in their customer service & professionalism. And that 1st class treatment of service continued thru all phases of our business trip from start to return.

Garrett is fantastic to work with. He is kind, responsive and you can tell he really cares about his customers. I worked with a different company on our way to our destination because Garrett could not find a plane. The agent at that company did not compare favorably to Garrett. I would highly recommend Garrett.
